Q：What is the value of cooling load of clean room? Square meter/RT.
A: This is a much confused and misunderstood problem; first, the exact wording should be 「coil cooling load」 rather than room cooling load.
Room cooling load: means the amount of indoor air conditioning load, including:①machinery, ②lighting,③human, ④wall heat transfer ⑤outdoor infiltration etc.
Coil cooling load: it equals to room cooling load + ⑥outdoor load + ⑦DFF load + ⑧reheating load + ⑨humidifying load and ⑩heat loss of insulation etc.
For common air conditioners without forced outdoor air input, room cooling load=coil cooling load, AHU cooling capacity can be selected by multiplying room cooling load and safety factor (20%~30%), however, clean room requires forced outdoor air input in large amount, thus, AHU cooling load is much higher than room cooling load in clean room.
Furthermore, it’s hard to generalize the problem of「what is the value of AHU cooling load in clean room？Square meter/RT」, in fact, it differs by production process, and the most prominent difference is different machinery, outdoor air input, forced draft fan, reheating load and humidifying load. Coil cooling load of some clean rooms is nearly equal to that of common air conditioners. In other cases, however, coil cooling load of some clean rooms is several times to that of common air conditioners.
